Story of Bhangarh – CURSE OF THE TANTRIK
To seduce her, he enchanted her bathing oil.
But the princess, also a practitioner of the occult, sensed his evil plan.
She threw the oil against a stone and made it come to life.
The stone rolled towards the tantric and crushed him.
But before he died he cursed the whole kingdom “With death and no possibility of rebirth”.
Centuries later, the Bhangarh ruins remain lifeless and desolate. Rumoured to be one of the most haunted places in India, even locals fear venturing into the ruins before sunrise or after sunset. For they believe the trapped souls of the dead are still there. Roaming and seeking redemption from the curse. Legend has it that anyone who enters Bhangarh after dark never comes out.
Please note, it is not allowed to enter the boundaries of Bhangarh before sunrise and after sunset as per the directive of the government of India.
